A custom Joan Gown for a unique bride

The bride Annabel approached us to discuss the Joan Bridal Gown from our made to order collection. Annabel wanted this dress to be custom made for her to wear on her wedding day but with a few unique alterations.

Their wedding day was planned to take place at Annabel's childhood home and with this she wanted a striking dress to suit the environment, to walk the line between tradition and the unconventional.

Annabel and her partner were to be married in the woodland opposite the family home so we opted for an ankle height graduated hem to make movement on the day care free on the woodland floor.

Annabel made two beautiful fabric selections out of the options we sourced for her wedding dress. Annabel was sure that she did not want to wear an ivory or white wedding dress but wanted to explore light pastels and greys. The main fabric that was chosen for the gown was a silver grey duchess satin which was then paired with a darker grey tulle for the underskirt, complementing one another beautifully. This commission was a joy to create for such a beautiful bride and enchanting location.
